In the Presentation Skills Project, four resident doctors have the opportunity each year to practice their presentation skills and engage with science at the highest level.
In the first step, participants receive a rhetoric/presentation course in Switzerland. In the second step, they travel to the EAU Annual Congress, where they work on a urological topic under the guidance and coaching of two experts from Switzerland. In the third and final step, the highlights of the selected topic are presented at the Post-EAU Symposium in Switzerland.
The best part: Sponsors cover 2/3 of the travel, congress, and hotel costs – participants only pay 1/3.

My Post-EAU-Experience
Tessa Sophie Bartmann
Participating in the Post-EAU Program has been a truly rewarding experience.
After a competitive application process, I had the chance to attend the EAU Congress – a fantastic opportunity to hear from leading experts, learn about the latest innovations, and connect with colleagues from around the world.
As part of the program, I prepared and delivered a presentation on Urolithiasis and LUTS, guided by an experienced mentor. This mentorship was a major benefit, providing invaluable insights into the critical appraisal of studies and data interpretation. My mentor’s guidance, availability for questions, and practical advice were instrumental in refining my presentation and building my confidence as a speaker.
Another highlight of the program was the two preparatory courses with a professional presentation coach. These sessions were not just about the basics of body language and vocal control – though that was certainly helpful – but also included practical guidance on structuring a presentation effectively. The opportunity to practice parts of my talk and receive immediate, personalized feedback was particularly valuable.
Additionally, it was a great chance to connect with other young urologists from across Switzerland, creating a valuable network for future collaboration and support.
Overall, I would highly recommend this program to any young urologist looking to expand their knowledge, improve their presentation skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the latest research. It’s an excellent way to build both professional skills and personal confidence – and an experience that will undoubtedly be beneficial in the years to come.
